Hi Product Hunt I'm part of the team at IntelliMinds Technologies, and today we are launching Asterism Track, a GPS tracking and fleet management platform we built specifically for individuals, families, and businesses in Kenya and across Africa. What inspired us to build this? The idea came from conversations, dozens of them. We spoke to matatu operators in Nairobi who had no idea where their vehicles were during the day. Logistics company owners who were losing thousands of shillings to fuel they could not account for. Parents who worried every morning when their child left for school. Car hire businesses that had lost vehicles and never recovered them. The pattern was the same every time: people were operating blind. They were managing expensive, important assets with phone calls, trust, and hope. And the existing GPS tracking tools available to them were either too expensive, too complicated to set up, or built for European and American networks, not for the realities of East African mobile coverage. The problem we set out to solve: Give any individual or business, regardless of technical skill or budget, the ability to see exactly where their vehicles are, where they have been, and what is happening right now. And do it in a way that works with the devices and SIM cards they already have. How the approach evolved: The first version of Asterism Track was much more complicated. We overbuilt it. We assumed users would want 50 configuration options before they could see a vehicle on a map. Our early testers told us clearly: "Just let me see my car. Fast." So we stripped everything back. We rebuilt the onboarding to take under 10 minutes. We made the dashboard show you what matters, vehicle status, recent trips, active alerts, without clicking anything. We focused on the three things every user actually needs: live location, trip history, and alerts. Everything else was built around those. We also learned that the hardware question was a major barrier. People did not want to buy new trackers. So we made Asterism Track compatible with the most common tracker protocols used in East Africa. If you already own a GPS device, you can connect it today. What we are most proud of: Businesses in Nairobi are already reporting 15-30% fuel savings within the first month of use. A car hire company using Asterism Track recovered a stolen vehicle within hours because they had the live location. Parents are using Asterism Connect to know when their child's school bus arrives, without calling the driver. What's next: We are actively improving the platform based on user feedback. A dedicated mobile app is in development. We are expanding support for more tracker protocols. And we are exploring insurance partnerships that would reduce premiums for tracked vehicles. We would love your feedback: The Product Hunt community's honest input is incredibly valuable to us. Try the free trial (no credit card needed), test it with a tracker, and tell us what works and what does not. We are listening.
