I used to log concerts in Word

by

Hello everyone! I used to log my concerts in a Word document.

Date, venue, programme, who I played with. It worked - until I wanted to answer simple questions about my career. We artists tend to quickly forget our achievements and especially things like - how many times and with which conductor have I played a particular work? Which venues have I played? What instrument and bow was I using? Which tours did I do?

I’m a professional orchestral cellist in Vienna, and I built ArtistLog because I wanted one place for all of this. I`ve always been a tech enthusiast, so I taught myself software development and built it around the way musicians actually work, because I couldn`t find an app which did all of this.

It brings together concerts, repertoire, tours, venues, gear, notes and an extensive library of composers and instrument makers. It also shows all kinds of stats, of which most of musicians didn`t event think of. There’s also Smart Fill, which can turn a programme photo or PDF into a structured concert entry. Everything is local-first and stays on your device.

I’m launching ArtistLog on Product Hunt on September 17.

I’d genuinely love to hear feedback from other makers, musicians, or anyone who spends a lot of time around classical music. What would you want a tool like this to remember about your work?
