Archi - On-device document scanner & AI for Paperless-NGX

by•
Archi scans paper, runs OCR and AI metadata extraction entirely on-device (Apple Vision + Gemma), and files it into your self-hosted Paperless-NGX. No cloud — nothing leaves your device. 2.0 adds native iPad & Mac, an offline archive with full-text search, and an AI transparency page.

Hey Product Hunt šŸ‘‹ I self-host Paperless-NGX and wanted to scan and file documents from my phone — without sending them through anyone's cloud AI. So I built Archi, where the whole pipeline runs on-device: šŸ“ø Scan (VisionKit) → šŸ” OCR (Apple Vision) → 🧠 AI metadata (Gemma 4 E2B, on-device) The AI suggests title, correspondent, document type, date and tags. You review everything, then it uploads to YOUR Paperless server. The only network call is to your own server — nothing leaves your device. What's new in 2.0 "Horizon": • Native iPad & Mac with an adaptive split-view • Offline archive — read + full-text search your documents with no connection • "About the AI" transparency page (which model, on-device, no data transfer) • Redesigned document view + lots of fixes Requires your own Paperless-NGX instance. $3.99 (US), one-time — no subscription. I'd love feedback, especially from fellow self-hosters and privacy folks. Happy to answer anything! — Arne Stenmanns
