Arc - A new web browser with a ton of personality

by
Arc is a browser that promotes organization and concentration. It is flexible and able to adapt to the most specific individual needs. As they say on the homepage, "Arc is your breathing space on the web. Are you ready to ditch the old internet?"

This is easily one of my most anticipated Windows apps. Any estimations on when we might see in on this platform?
I've seen a video made by The Browser Company and they say It'll come soon! I'm also looking a lot forward to seeing Arc for Windows! Probably we will see it this year.
Really eager to try this. I have been searching for this kind of browser for a long time. Also, a quick question, is it based on some open-source project or is it made from scratch? Good Luck 🚀
I know that Arc is built on top of Chromium (the open-source browser project that is also the basis of Chrome).
I'm using it for a month or so. Spaces connected with profiles are OP! Option to migrate from Chrome etc. is also sweet. Library (handy space with your downloads, notes etc.) is also a nice addition. The only thing that is preventing me from switching to it is a lack of a developer-mode or something similar, I really miss my F12 shortcut to open DevTools. That's the only minus I can come up with. Really. Great work team!
I'm pretty sure F12 was a redundant shortcut for dev tools created by Windows, but it was never actually the standard shortcut for developer tools. Not on my computer right now, but pretty sure: [CMD] + [Opt] + [ i ] (fixed) has been the actual standard shortcut for that if you'd like to build up that muscle memory.
you’re right. Once I wrote that comment I checked the shortcuts in settings and was able to change it to F12. As I love my function keys. 😜 btw. Standard shortcut is CMD OPT I
They actually have a dedicated dev mode for tabs with lots of cool extra functionality. Try activating it with the Command-L menu.
Nice one! Thanks. Pretty basic, but a good starting point, for sure. Hope to see some more cool stuff.
I'm using Arc for about a half year now. The transition from Sidekick browser (another Chromium-based) was not pretty smooth since now I don't have topbar and have to use hotkeys. But in one week I mastered everything I need and now Arc is my main daily app. I deleted all Electron / Browser-based apps and they are just tabs now! Great job team! Can't wait for your Internet Computer 🤫
guys you are using chromium api in your browser.... how is it going to kill chrome?
trade-off for all the extensions people use which would make the browser unusable...
I try this browser for 1 month! It's a game changer. The navigation is very smooth! The sidebar is practical and easy to use. I definitely recommend it!!!!👍🏻
Totally! The fluidity of the navigation and change of space is what convinced me the most!
I'm a heavy Chrome and Android user, was even exclusively using ChromeOS for nearly a decade. Well, until Arc... Arc is nothing short of amazing, somehow it got me to purchase a MacBook for the first time in my life, and uninstall Chrome. It's now what I use exclusively. So if anyone is on the edge, give it a shot. Actually wrote a post all about the most enjoyable features of Arc and where it's headed (potential for an amazing multiplayer mode): Thank you to the entire team at Arc for thinking differently and building something fresh and new 🔥
I'm guessing you didn't coordinate this launch with the company?
I am not sure why this is even a thing on Product Hunt, randomly hunting and launching products without coordinating it with the makers.
I'll do it sometimes — but 99% of the time I try to reach out to the makers first to get their approval and coordinate with them. was originally hunted six months ago, also unofficially, and didn't do well. This time it did better — but it's still not publicly available.
I can't wait to try! This look so great!
I've been using Arc for some time now next to Safari. It's really refreshing and the command panel for navigating is really efficient. Nice hunt!
