I built it because I kept running into the same problem: getting reliable Amazon data without wrestling with blocks, missing fields, or half-broken scrapers. Sellers and researchers often just want clean product info, quick comparisons, or a way to watch competitors, but the tools out there were either slow, unstable, or too limited. The main goal was to make something that works the same way across every marketplace and doesn’t require people to fine-tune a dozen scripts. I wanted a single Actor that could handle search pages, detect regions, grab reviews when needed, and export everything in a format you can plug straight into your workflow. While building it, I started with simple search scraping. Then I added review extraction, competitor tagging, filtering, and concurrency controls after seeing how often Amazon throttles inconsistent crawls. The process kept evolving as I ran into edge cases: sponsored listings, missing prices, marketplace quirks, and situations where proxy settings had a big impact. Each improvement came from real runs where I wanted the tool to recover gracefully instead of failing silently. In the end, the project became less about scraping pages and more about giving people clear, dependable market signals with as little friction as possible.
