What makes you trust an AI fitness coach?
What I learned after launching an AI fitness coach in Bulgaria
Two months after launch, the biggest lesson was not about AI quality. It was about trust.
Users did not only care whether the coach could generate a workout. They cared whether it remembered:
- painful areas and limitations
- excluded exercises
- available equipment
- recovery and stress
- whether they wanted a harder plan or a different plan
That changed how I think about personalization. A plan is not truly personal if the system forgets the important context after one message.
I recently improved this part of Apex Pulse PRO and also corrected the pre-assessment state so the app no longer shows personalized recovery values before the profile is completed.
For people using or building fitness apps:
What makes you trust an AI coach enough to follow its recommendation?
