Angula is the Tsonga language word for "reply". Over the past ten years, I've been working on a variety of language-related solutions with the goal of digitising and teaching African languages to people. Angula is the follow-up to Xitsonga.org, my first initiative, which received the MTN App of the Year 2020 (Best Educational Solution) award in South Africa. People urged us to expand Xitsonga.org to new languages after we received the award. We built Angula to make it easy and affordable for anyone to learn any African language. Angula is now in beta as we finish the courses and recordings. By the end of August 2022, we will provide publish courses for Setswana, isiZulu, Sepedi, and Xitsonga. Angula will launch with 9 languages which are spoken in the SADC region and are official languages in South Africa, eSwatini, Lesotho and Botswana. I'd appreciate your input and feedback. Avuxeni!

This app will pave a fruitful path to many South Africans who never had an opportunity to learn African languages in school. We need such apps for our kids and adults...
