**What inspired me to build this product?** I’ve spent many years working with large, enterprise ERP systems—both implementing them and supporting businesses that depend on them. Over time, a few consistent problems kept showing up: 1. **ERP systems are powerful but inaccessible** Most modern ERPs are expensive, complex to customize, and locked behind vendor roadmaps. Smaller teams, startups, and even mid-size companies often can’t justify the cost or effort. 2. **AI is bolted on, not designed in** AI features in ERPs usually feel like afterthoughts—dashboards, chatbots, or reports added on top of rigid systems, rather than something that genuinely assists decision-making and operations. 3. **Open-source ERPs lack modern architecture** Many open-source ERPs exist, but they tend to be monolithic, hard to extend, or not designed for today’s workflows, integrations, and automation needs. 4. **Developers don’t have a clean foundation to build on** There isn’t a flexible, modular ERP base where developers can easily contribute domain-specific features (finance, construction, supply chain, etc.) without fighting the core system. So the idea behind **NexusAI First ERP** was not to compete with enterprise giants, but to explore a different approach: * An **AI-first, modular ERP foundation** * Built **open-source**, so architecture and decisions are transparent * Designed so contributors can extend it without breaking everything else * Useful as a **learning platform, research project, or real-world base system** This started as a way to solve problems I kept encountering in practice, and it’s now an experiment to see whether an open, community-driven, AI-native ERP can be built in a more sustainable and developer-friendly way. I’m sharing it publicly because I want feedback, contributors, and real criticism—especially from people who’ve faced similar ERP limitations.

This is a hugely ambitious and needed vision. The focus on a modular, AI-first foundation rather than bolting AI onto a monolith is the right architectural approach for the next generation of tools.

A core question for an open-source project like this: What is your strategy for developer onboarding and contribution? For example, do you have a clear "module template" or contribution guide that shows how to add a new domain-specific feature (like a finance module) without breaking the core AI orchestration?
