Wow - this is an awesome idea and no idea why it isn't higher up today. How does the facial recognition work? What do different facial expressions trigger in the app?
Iacopo Schianchi
@cwbuilds1 Thank you for your nice words! I hope it will get more upvotes today. The facial recognition works by using Google's face detection model on every frame from the camera to get the location of the faces. Then, I use the transfer learning model that I trained to get a prediction for each face. Finally, the result is displayed on the screen.

💡 Bright idea
What a great way to use facial recognition! Seems to me the most clear USP. Have you considered focusing your communication to the most important features to make it even easier to understand?
Iacopo Schianchi
@sabina_sonning Thank you for your compliment and suggestion. At first, I tried to highlight every feature in the app, but now I will focus more on the main features, such as facial expression recognition and lessons.

Really interesting concept @kuba_apps – when do you think you will have an iOS version? Would love to check it out – cool to see you have built it on TensorFlow with transfer learning. I did similar when I replicated the 'hot dog not hot dog' app from the Silicon Valley TV series :)

@jake_mcmahon1 Thank you! I do not currently plan on having an iOS version because the app is free and ad-free, and I would need to pay the App Store fees.
Jake McMahon
@kuba_apps Thanks – that makes complete sense! Best of luck :)
