Day 26 building AffiSpark

by

A comment on yesterday’s post gave me a better mental model for product friction.

Every ask spends trust.

Pricing spends trust.

Setup spends trust.

Forms spend trust.

Handoffs spend trust.

They are all pulling from the same balance.

That is why the exact same ask can feel fair in one place and hostile in another.

For AffiSpark, the preview page, in-browser walkthrough flow, and exit-intent feedback all make more sense through that lens: they add trust before asking for more.

I think a lot of early product work is really trust-balance work.

My current rule: before removing an ask, ask whether the product simply has not earned it yet.

Founders: what ask in your product only started working once users had enough trust before it appeared?
