Day 23 building AffiSpark

by

Yesterday I wrote that a rule you have to remember manually is not a real system yet.

Today I think the next step is this: intentions do not scale. Defaults do.

The default path tells the truth about what the product actually prioritizes.

If the default asks for payment before context, speed is beating trust.

If the default hands users off to mailto or another app, shipped is beating complete.

If the default lets users leave silently, guesswork is beating learning.

For AffiSpark, the preview page, in-browser walkthrough flow, and exit-intent feedback were really default changes, not just feature work.

My current rule: if a lesson matters, I want the default path to enforce it.

Founders: what default in your product was quietly fighting the lesson you thought you had already learned?
