Now in beta!
Most data providers are looking to sell you SEC data. We at 3spread think that's ridiculous, and have made our standardized SEC data completely free through our robust API.

Our team spoke with dozens of data vendors back in 2024 when we got started building, and we found that every single one of them wanted to charge us thousands of dollars per-month to build a platform on their minimal layer of SEC data.
We took that personally, and decided to host our own resource. The Securities Exchange Commission makes the data freely available to the public because it's supposed to exist for public benefit. We believe in keeping with those values, which is why our API is completely free for personal use at rates far higher than any vendor is willing to offer.
Why use an API instead of going straight to the SEC? Well, the SEC's archives aren't particularly user-friendly, and the data is what we like to call "hostile to parsing". Forms can have literally dozens of different formats ranging from clean XML or JSON to random clusters of messy, non-standard HTML with embedded tables, PDFs, and other content.
At 3spread, we built processors for everything. You can pull data from us at a significantly higher volume and everything will be structured into clean, consistent JSON. Most importantly, it costs nothing =)

Pulled a few filings through the API earlier today and the response times were way better than I expected for something free. Clean JSON, no rate limit headaches yet.

Thank you! Let us know if you have any questions =)
love that you skipped the dashboard and went straight to a clean API endpoint with instant access after signup. the no-credit-card, no-tiered paywall approach to SEC filings feels genuinely refreshing compared to clunky enterprise data portals.
@glayzocakmtug We did our best to make it quick and easy to start pulling data. Thanks for joining!
