195-0 update: making cabinet trade-offs visible before you draft
Maker update: we have expanded the role-selection guides for 195-0 World Draft, our free satirical browser game. This is a guide update, not a change to scoring or leaderboard rules.
The design problem is that a recognizable face is not necessarily the best fit for an empty cabinet seat. Players choose a President, Vice President, General, Propaganda Minister, and Treasurer, so an early appointment can remove a useful option for a later role.
The updated role guide now connects the President explanation to the politician strategy guide and the Propaganda Minister explanation to the pop-star guide, alongside the existing General and Treasurer reading paths. These explain the game’s category-based trade-offs; they are not claims about anyone’s real-world ability.
You can inspect the role guide here: https://www.195-0.cc/cabinet-roles
Our approach is to show the short role explanation first, with detailed strategy available when a player wants it. The scoring guide separately explains bonuses, penalties, and variance. AI-generated portraits and optional campaign narration are presentation features, not an AI judge of the score.
For players and fellow game makers: is it more helpful to see category strengths before the first draft, or to discover them through the first result breakdown? That is the onboarding trade-off we are trying to improve.
