Even though we've (two dev team) been bootstrapping the product for a few years, we feel like we're just now starting to see significant traction in our MRR and site visits. What's the main thing that's different now? I'd say it's simply that the product is much better compared to a year ago, no question about it. Here ... ... works best for your product. If you're in the early stages of building a user base, testing various platforms can actually give unexpected insights. Even smaller social platforms might prove to be pretty valuable.
