Strengthen your community prior to the launch
Nico Spijker
Enjoy the ride! Obviously not everyone can be #1 of the day or have a super successful launch, and that's ok. Focus on connecting with the community, meeting other makers and receiving feedback from your launch!
Amna Shahid
@nicolaas_spijker Thanks for the reply. I am launching my first product today and taking your advice to enjoy the ride.
Shivam Rathore
@nicolaas_spijker Yeah, completely agree with these points. Networking and community feedback is more important than the ranking and upvotes
Philippe Beaudoin
@nicolaas_spijker This is a great advice! I've been stressing up about my launch but you're reminded me that it's a process and that it wont be defined by any single event. Thanks!

Launch with a hunter! Have your community and users support you.

@parekh_tanmay but Product Hunt says that it isn't help right now. It's a myth. Previously, when hunters launch a new product – their followers will receive notifications about it. But it isn't work right now.

@new_user_33896c12e1959 Thanks for letting me know. We recently launched through an Hunter and got a good response but it may be due to the fact of our users and community members helping out too. You can check the launch via https://www.producthunt.com/post... Do consider upvote :)

However, it's possible that our users and community members also had a key role in its success. We recently launched through a Hunter and received excellent comments[url=https://bestweedandfeed.com/how-...]

@parekh_tanmay @new_user_33896c12e1959 But, you will get benefitted from having a hunter is the hunter has a following on other platforms and he/she is willing to promote your product on those platforms.
Tanmay Parekh
@rick_fan for sure. You can create a list of people who are hunters or community leaders and get them to support you when you launch.

Pro tip — ask beta-testers to get their feedback as a testimonial. This way, you will have solid social proof before the launch.
Nadezhda Kuzmenko
Look for support the whole 24h of launching. When your competitors are sleeping you can boost!

@vse_horoscho Thank you, just launched my first product. Here is the link. would appreciate your help https://www.producthunt.com/post...

Be useful to the community, just like in other communities
Nikolas Dimitroulakis
plan for what happens after the launch
Atticus Li
@nikolas_dimitroulakis This is really good advice. I think most builders are so focused on the launch and forget what happens after. Building a startup is a long journey.

Great discussion, also looking for tips from the community.

The focus should be on seeing $$ or metrics like sign ups/conversions and not vanity metrics like number of upvotes or ranking. Because your product could turn out to be # 1 product of the day but yet wouldn’t have seen any real conversations. So what is your goal, that’s something you should define before you launch.

Make a strong connection with the community.

@busmark_w_nika I have the same philosophy! Lets connect on Firmbee's Twitter - drop me a private message. :)
Business Marketing with Nika
@firmbeecom @piotr_pawlowski How do you see it with Twitter in the future, after the Elon Musk acquisition? Lots of people went to Hive social app after his $ 8 checkmark system. Now, he has smth with Apple.
Vishal Godhwani from Brew Money
Hey Amna, deciding what your goal is before the launch helps in the overall planning. Once that's done, decide your entire strategy around that goal. Good luck :)
Maria Mikhailova
I think that everything related to the IT sphere
Sharath Kuruganty
Launch to gather feedback and become better. Don’t chase vanity metrics like the top spot of the feed.

My learnings: 1. Visit product hunt daily.(Even if its just 5 minutes) 2. Talk to other builders 3. Give feedbacks and received feedbacks

@kindacoder lets talk! You can drop me a message on my Twitter firmbeecom

I guess a good tip is to create an upcoming page. We've used split-screen mode in our upcoming (better than chat mode IMHO), short description, product video, and special offer for PH users. Also, it's good for your design tests before the main launch. You can check it out here https://www.producthunt.com/upco...

Try becoming active and make connections with the PH community so you could get support at the right time :)
