Launch day was a rollercoaster of emotions. I thought I would share a few things you may not know, hoping it will prepare you. 1. Make sure you're well organized. This includes having a checklist of all the communities to post to. (LinkedIn, Reddit, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc) also you should split up roles with team members. 2. Make sure you have your post copy already written so you can copy paste. Make sure you try make it personalized for each platform. 3. On launch you are going to feel overwhelmed, you will have messages from people supporting you, you will have to decide where to post, who to reach out to etc. there will be distractions. 4. Know if you have a small team, you're going to be in it for the long haul. I was in front of the screen for about 19hours total during launch. STAY HYDRATED. Take 2-5 minute breaks and stretch. 5. You will get approached by so many people offering to promote you on their LinkedIn, some legitimate, some total waste. I think most of my support came from genuine 1 on 1 reach outs and sharing with the community. Towards the end I was even asking my dogs for support. lol. 6. You will have people offering guaranteed placement and upvotes by paying them. My integrity said no and I came in 6th place and I slept well knowing it was 100% genuine. Don't ruin it for yourself and others by buying upvotes, it's not worth wavering your integrity. Unless you don't have one. 7. No, most likely you will not get a million signups. For the most part I knew this and used PH for PR purposes. I will be creating a launch press release and using this in my presentations and exciting introduction talks. 8. Things can go wrong. My product was not showing up anywhere on launch day on the homepage. I emailed them and a few hours later it popped up. Yes, you will panic. Have a back up device also. 9. Do not expect everyone you supported in the past to support you back. Some may not see the messages and some, well, just choose to ignore helping you. 10. MOST IMPORTANT. Just be genuine with your reach outs, be real, try be personalized if you can, especially with close community members. Remember, the more genuine and personable you are, the more likely they will WANT to support you. Happy to answer any questions you have

Thanks a lot for sharing, Slim! You did amazing! 🏆 Point 9 is so sad (the ignore part)...
Share
@matej_cabadaj yep! It happened a few times. They read the message but didn’t do anything even after I supported them

Congrats on the result Slim! I think you've done an amazing job. Love this post, have been meaning to write something similar. Re 5 & 6: It's unbelievable how many reach out like that, across all channels (X, LinkedIN, email, company email, support chat!). I somehow did not expect that. I didn't see any that were legitimate, except for the people who were active PH-ers and most having a launch lined up.
Share
@sjoerdhandgraaf it was nuts, so many people wanting money for posts/upvotes and they are relentless!

Congrats again and point 6 is so accurate 👏👏

You did great and congratulations! I was in front of the computer live for 8 hours and my PH team was was on it for almost 30hours pre and post launch included (love my team). But it was all worth it. And kudos for going organic, we stuck with organic outreach as well. Just sad that a lot of people will leverage in this (considering that you are already panicing)

@austinarmstrong it’s crazy how you don’t understand the level of emotions until launch day and it’s a rollercoaster that’s for sure! How did you end up finishing? We finished 6 from 110 launches
