Solo or team worker?

Do you prefer working solo or with a team? Also, can you share why? For the past 3 years I have been working alone as a freelancer so right now, having a team around me is a fresh feeling. I would say that motivates me to push even harder.

I love the saying: “If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together”

Setting where I'm part of a team has introduced a refreshing dynamic. It's this sense of camaraderie and shared purpose that truly motivates me to push harder and achieve more than I could on my own.

Teamwork makes the dream work! I can also motivate myself without a team, but a small team offers you a much better skill set to perform better. On top can colleagues turn into friends. Strong connections at work are so nice and it's also more fun if you can talk about everything you want in the office, not just small talk :D

@marvin_maendle Yes I agree, for some tasks is nice to have a mentor. And I'm not talking about some big bosses, but as you said different colleagues have different skill sets on so many things, and it's nice to learn from them

I have it like 60% and 40%. Like both approaches because the first one gives you the opportunity to make decisions on your own, the second gives you commitment and as it is said: More heads more ideas.

@busmark_w_nika yep, it's nice when you have that hybrid option. It makes the workday dynamic and much more interesting

I appreciate both solo work and teamwork for different reasons. When working solo, I enjoy the freedom to set my own pace and dive deep into tasks without external influence. However, collaborating with a team brings diverse perspectives and collective problem-solving, leading to more innovative solutions.

@dan_burns totally agree. What I missed the most in those 3 freelance years was feedback from colleagues. You work alone for clients, so they are the only ones that can give you feedback. And that doesn't work all the time :)

Team work! With a good team you can change the world. No jokes!

Solo work allows for deep focus and autonomy, but team collaboration often brings diverse ideas and accelerates problem-solving. It really depends on the task at hand and personal working style preferences.

started working on the idea by myself initially, but now I have a small team, and I must say that having a team is actually very motivating! It allows you to focus on what you do best and delegate tasks that you would spend much more time on, especially if you've never worked on them before. It's also great to get new perspectives and ideas from your colleagues, especially when you are stuck!

After having tried digital nomadism for 6+ months, I definitely prefer working in a team but not any team. Small group of smart and like-minded people building a startup together is best

@french_ninja It almost doesn't matter what the work is, as long as the people you are working with get you and it's fun.

I think a team is so much more fun and organic. When I work alone I have to "talk" to myself to think through problems and make plans. I'm sure that the quality of thought and execution is better when there's at least one other person to bounce the ideas off of!

I love working with a team because anything can be done with a group of people. Everything that is incredible is because of multiple people involved. With a small team, we made our product that launched today! Check it out!

I enjoy both, but there's something special about collaborating with a team. The diversity of ideas and support can lead to amazing outcomes.✨

My comment might come across as disrespectful towards the work of others, but it's not my intention to show any disrespect. It's probably due to my limited experience in working within teams. In fact, I've almost always worked independently, handling multiple aspects of a project. The few times I've been part of a team, I ended up having to do others' work in the end because it was done poorly and with little attention to detail. I've probably been particularly unlucky, but based on my experience, I prefer working alone. Of course, this applies only to tasks where I have expertise. For example, in the project I'm currently involved in, I handle all technical aspects, while two other individuals take care of relationships and marketing.

@ivan_spadacenta I know this feeling too, but I think you would change your mind if there were the right people around you

Ehhh bit of both tbh. I need my time to focus on my work, but I also don't mind a good team session. My current record for a non-stop team session is 13 hours 😅
Domas Sakavickas
@dan16 wow, 13 hours of non-stop work sounds crazy! If there were a PH badge for that you would definitely be awarded 😄

It's amazing how much more you can achieve with the support of a team, isn't it?
