Is It Worth Adding a Table Contents to your Blog Posts?

We are trying to revamp our existing blog and the team is divided around adding a ‘Table of content’ to the blog.
1. Does it have any SEO impact?
2. If yes, should it be on the side or like a listicle somewhere between the content (say like HS)?

Adding the 'table of content" with links might have a minor SEO impact.
As a rule-of-thumb, if it's easy to navigate for humans, Google would love it.
I've seen tables of content both on a side and on top (but not between the content).
Maybe putting it on the side incites visitors to view additional content.

I don't know the SEO pov, but for user experience part it is good. You can see in short all the topic covered and moved to particular section.
