I'm wondering how it might be interesting to know your Biological Age?

Doing our Smart Electronic Medical Records we included a lot of health risks calculators. Based on the lab tests we can also do a quantifying Biological Age. If you're older than your chronological age (using, for example, DNAm PhenoAge which is an epigenetic biomarker of aging for lifespan and healthspan) it’s a kind of risk of age-related diseases. Does it seem interesting to you?

I use a Renpho scale and their app provides an estimate of metabolic age. I pay less attention to that stat than body compositional stats (muscle mass, body fat% etc) though.

@duhaime Thanks for the answer. Would it change your interest if you know how to improve/decrease your metabolic/biological age? Does your interest focused on the body composition stats because it's easier to use and clear how to affect it?

Hi Anna! It would be absolutely interesting to me. There are age-related health issues that may happen to one earlier than average. The things they cause is something one might expect to happen after 50yo but they happen earlier due to inevitable hormonal deficiency, for example. Me personally would be interested in such an examination and would be glad to receive a report with areas to focus on to prevent preliminary ageing since I am running one of those things myself. I installed an app that shows my bio age based on the data from health apps. Although I do understand the results I get might lack credibility to fully rely on I find it comforting and assuring (the mental discomfort is also an issue and even having some credible reassurance is a plus). If the reports were science and examination based I believe I would benefit from them extremely to plan my future life. To be honest this information even affects my personal investment strategy decisions, lol. So yes, I believe there are people who could benefit from biological age reports in both mental and physical wellbeing perspectives.
