There are only two types of people: those who work on week-ends and those who don't. What's your choice?

Once or twice a month I'll spend a Saturday morning focusing on creative work. Usually something that's been on my mind for a while that I want to get visualised. It's always been deep focus and fun, and arguably some of my best work. There's definitely a calming no pressure aura on the day. Love it!

@leojbarnett nice to hear that you've performed well when doing what you love

@daniel_engels It's very nice to hear it put that way

far too often.. but I love it

Yeah, whenever I can. Priorities are family and friends but any downtime I try to get through a couple of bug tickets or tidy up tasks.

@daniel_engels you're certainly right! I find if you can force yourself todo 15minutes, it can quickly turn into an hour or two.
    Daniel Engels
@andrew_isherwood1 it requires lots of motivation and discipline to do such tasks on weekend. Bravo.

I don't work formally on weekends, I only check quickly online campaigns results. There can be sometimes ad accounts errors or something like that.
    Daniel Engels
@sergul_sungur1 following ad campaign results is quite engaging. I'm often impatient to check them every several hours (even though it's absolutely not necessary)

There are more then 2 types! I personally shut everything down from Friday afternoon until Saturday evening or even Sunday morning. Those 25+ laptop-free hours really allow me to regenerate, rest and come back fresh and ready to dive right back into work.

@ireteh it's a rare thing for a CEO. Glad that you're able to have this luxury!
    Irete Hamdani
@daniel_engels It shouldn't be! +this weekly "reset" enables me to come back full of energy and new ideas. Try it for a month and let me know if it worked for you :)
    Daniel Engels
@ireteh I don't always work on weekends. And when I do, I don't necessarly feel it as a hard work - I have the luxury of getting some exciting stuff to do.

As the head of the marketing department, I often check for important emails on weekends too. But I don't bother my team or force them to turn on their systems unless it is very urgent. I am totally in favor of work-life balance and know that every person has a private life of their own.

I work on weekends. Not as much of course as on weekdays. But I work.

@new_user_11620223ff4de5436 when a student, I studied on weekends almost all the time. And of course even more so in the weeks before the exams.

I often work at weekends. I find it's the best time to do "deep work" when the team and our customers aren't needing anything, when I don't have meetings or any interruptions. I often do my most creative work for SupaPass at the weekend!
    Daniel Engels
@julianameyer I also like to reserve weekends for creative tasks that require concentration.

Form me, it depends on the definition of "work". As a developer I'm "working" on the same stuff as I would do while doing my job in the office (developing software), but more in hobby projects - not on the same projects which I do in my job. But stuff I've learned from these hobby projects will find their way into my work projects. So yes and no (chose "I work on week-ends, occasionally")

Hi, @daniel_engels I used to work on weekends. Now, I don't work on weekends and I am glad I have time to focus on my skills and learn new things during weekends. What about you?
    Daniel Engels
@tanya_kapoor I often work on weekends. Either I have something rather exciting. Either I have an emergency to finish before deadline.

It depends on how we classify work on weekends. Working on hobby projects, yes. Working on projects related to my daytime job, no.
    Amelia Charlie
Quite often, yes, and in all my jobs. And I have never been paid for that overtime. Let me elucidate… I love to work, and I love my job. Working overtime and on the weekends doesn't bother me when I have to do it. The most important is to remember to keep the work-life balance.
    Daniel Engels
@amelia_charlie glad to hear that you're fulfilled with what you're doing.

    Luckily not :)
