What is peoples experience with buying lead lists? Does this work - any good experiences here? Maybe even also on tools/platforms/sites to buy this from?

Instead of buying lead lists, I have been trying to do the labor of finding out target companies through linkedin to send cold emails to relevant people there. It is an enormous task. But there are plenty of tools that give you list of emails associated with a particular domain. Is that what you're looking for?

@zuhaib_ashfaq thanks for you feedback on this. I also lean more towards LinkedIn, because you can make that approach less promotional. We actually do this today using Waalaxy. How do you approach this on LinkedIn?

@jannikandersen right, you have to keep it genuine. Sounding salesy is a no-go. While we are a few months away from sending messages, we haven't selected any particular tool, but I heard about scrab.in that can help in generating leads. Any other similar tools that have helped your way?

@zuhaib_ashfaq Very much agree in you approach. We do the same when we reach out. Normally our main goal is to get more knowledge/do knowledge sharing in relation to our market/product and secondly is to see if it can potentially turn out to be a lead we need to mature. But in this way we avoid being to salesy. Tool wise we have earlier used Phantombuster, but we just tried Waalaxy a few month ago and I must admit this is the best tool we have found for this.

@jannikandersen great strategy and thanks for the insight. I'll also try waalaxy and see how it can benefit us. This is my first ever product to be launched, so I'm trying to get a hold of almost everything 😅

A tough one! I personally have not used it and was advised against it by my mentors. You are more likely to be viewed negatively and conversions are much lower as the intent is not there compared to collecting emails via newsletter, reaching out via Linkedin or cold emails to targeted companies. Though you can prove me wrong :)

@shezzy04 thanks for your thoughts on this. I feel the same - have never used it and dont feel positive about it. But wanted to hear other people experiences. Was on a course where the trainer highly recommended this

@jannikandersen Interesting I've never seen anyone highly recommend it! I wonder in what context though?

Personally, I am not a fan of buying lead lists because I find that it is not sincere and not worth it. However, finding leads on linkedin by myself is a lot of work and time consuming.I prefer using a LinkedIn add-on tool. There are really good lead generation tools that provide lead lists. I use Tamly and there is a free trial available if you want to give it a go.

Buying lead lists can vary in effectiveness. While it provides quick access to potential contacts, the quality can be inconsistent, and there may be issues with accuracy and relevance. Building targeted lists through opt-in methods often yields better results.
