When to charge a user who became "paying" between the 28th and 31st of a given month?

Hey there, I'm having a hard time to decide what to do when our users become "paying" between the 28th and 31st of a given month. 
The problem: depending on the month, the day might not exist (the most common case is the day 31).

Interesting problem, assuming you offer monthly subscription (charged for every calendar month). If your model counts with 30 days or 4 weeks, please disregard.

It would feel natural for me to charge the user on the 1st next month, so that their cancellation period is not influenced negatively.
