What’s the best advice you’ve ever received as a founder?

For me personally, it bothers me a lot when people try to teach others something that they didn't do themselves. It's like one blind person tries to teach other blind person to see. So the best advice is to learn from experience and it's been working for me so far. What's yours?

How to Stay Resilient and Creative While Building a Startup Webinar

Hey there, I was talking with my co-founder, Elena Oprea, the other day and we wanted to give to the community here on Product Hunt. So, we created a webinar on 10 practices we use at Selftalk, our mental health startup, to build more resilience and stay creative. Some of them are: silent retreats; working through transgenerational trauma; water fasts; sadhu board for pain resilience; writing a book; ontology trainings like Landmark; dark retreats, contemplation, and journaling etc. The event is this Friday - 31th of January Join us, register here - https://lu.ma/b3ric9lh

How do you handle burnout while building your product?

One of the big problems for me when I get to work on multiple projects at the same time is that i get burned out. Would appreciate your advice on how you tackle it.

What are your tips for junior designers?

Here are my three tips: 1. Progress over complaints Nobody fixed low design maturity by complaining. Take small steps: Do a little bit of research. Propose a small improvement that goes beyond the brief. Ask what if questions. Show the value of good design. 2. Relationships over being right I have colleagues, and customers I ve met 5-10 years ago in different companies. And I could have had more of them if I understood this sooner: Being good to work with beats being right. Build bridges. Don t burn them. 3. Judgement over perfect process When I started as designer, I was looking for the golden process. I thought great designers are taking some steps I don t, and that s why their work is so good. I had to learn how taste is growing with experience, and curiosity. Learn how to make sense of information. And to turn it to UX patterns.

Do you work on the weekends?

I've always gotten a mixed review around working on weekends. Some prefer it to be a no work zone so they can start the work day week fresh but others like to mix it up. What do you do?

How would you explain your job role to a 5 year old?

We tend to complicate everything so much - how about we simplify things and try to explain our work as we would explain it to a 5-year-old?

Share your product here to get support and feedback (August, 2021)

Hi Makers! Post your product in this thread if you are: (1) launching soon or recently launched (2) looking for feedback on your landing page (3) looking for someone to beta-test your product and give feedback on the product before launch I believe in giving before asking. Start by helping someone who have posted their product, help them with their question, give a suggestion, write a review or a comment on their launch page. Once you have helped someone else out, share your product link here and clearly state what kind of help you need.

How building a product changed you?

In my case, building my startup Selftalk - an app for self-therapy, transformed my character big time. 1. I became much more grounded, and connected to reality. 2. I discovered so many things about myself, good and bad, which significantly deepened my self-awareness. 3. I ve developed immense respect and compassion for fellow entrepreneurs, creators, and doers. It s easy to critique from the sidelines, but it s an entirely different experience to be in the arena, facing the challenges head-on.

What’s a skill humans should focus on as AI becomes more advanced?

As AI takes over certain tasks, skills like creativity, and emotional intelligence, will become even more valuable. What s one human trait you believe will remain irreplaceable?

What book has made an impact on you, and why?

For me personally was "The body keeps the score" by Bessel van der Kolk. It showed me that everything we experience in our lives, including traumas and unprocessed emotions, is stored in our bodies.
