1 Launch, 2 Co-Founders, 3 Awards: How we prepared for Product Hunt

We launched on Product Hunt on April 9, 2026. From this launch, we ended up with:

But the real work started weeks before launch day.

With @bengeekly , we spent weeks trying to understand how @producthunt actually works. Not by reading random launch guides , but by being active on the platform:

Hi from a writer who ended up building a tool

Hi! I'm Susanne author, editor, and the person behind ALIES Author. I kept seeing the same thing: writers with great ideas, stuck halfway through. Not because they couldn't write. Because nothing fit the way they actually work. ALIES is scene-based that's the core. The guidance and structure adapt to how you write. Just your story, your voice. Excited to be here!

Any other writers here who also ended up building something?

First-time builder working on a focus tool

Hey everyone

I m Qasim, currently building my first product

I kept running into the same problem while working, constantly switching apps mid-task and breaking focus without even realizing it

Tried using timers but they didn t really change anything for me, they just tracked time while I was distracted

What are your best productivity hacks that worked for you?

I like working (a lot of working), but sometimes I struggle with my time.
Understand that I am not able to manage/fit everything that I wanted to do in my schedule.

So I had to "re-organise" some activities and was able to learn something or make myself productive.

Most AI writing tools are solving the wrong problem

Hey Product Hunt

Unpopular opinion:

Most AI writing tools are solving the wrong problem.

I am building Contentsaurus and I do not think people struggle with writing. They struggle with thinking clearly at the start. That blank page moment is not laziness. It is confusion disguised as delay.

How do you decide what features should be free and what should be paid?

Let me start from the creator s perspective:
I personally don t have a product (apart from hiring people for creative work or offering personal consultations).

But as a creator, I constantly share content, insights, and information, value that helps me build trust (for free). Based on that perceived expertise, people eventually decide to work with me (a paid service).
