I'm a serial founder based in London, currently building AI Aware, a detection platform for AI-generated content across text, images, deepfakes and audio. We're pushing the state of the art in multi-modal detection with a team across data science, AI research and product. Before this I founded Discover, a short-form video platform reaching 1.5M monthly active users in 140 countries. I spent 8 years at YouGov leading data products and was part of the team behind the YouGov Cube, transforming it into a big data business. My career has always sat at the intersection of data, product and building from zero at Reuters, Dow Jones, and companies of my own. What type of financing for your startup do you find most acceptable?

In the AI era, it is no longer so difficult to finance things from your own resources bootstrapped (except for promotion or hardware-intensive solutions).

I have always saved money and tried to do things myself (what I didn't know, I learned to do to save on financial costs).

AI Aware - Detection of AI-generated text, deepfakes, audio and images

Existing AI content detection products tend to detect one form of content - AI Aware detects all four (text, images, video and audio). This will be important as AI develops and threats become increasingly multi-modal. Existing detectors also tend to be built around one detection model leaning heavily on machine learning which means they make mistakes when confronted with content not trained on. Ours combines models, along with identifying patterns across generators, for more accurate detection.
