Are we building tools for creators, or tools for creation itself?

I started thinking about this after feeling frustrated with creative tools that limit experimentation through subscriptions, credits, and usage restrictions.

Then I discovered the local AI space, and it introduced another interesting tradeoff: having more ownership and control often means taking on more complexity.
