Few months ago I bought a Cadillac Lyriq and was excited about its beautiful 33-inch Android Automotive display.

I underestimated how different Android Automotive implementations are between manufacturers.

Testing on Polestar, Volvo, Cadillac and Renault revealed lots of small differences that don t show up in the emulator.

Supporting touch is easy.

Designing an interface that feels good with a rotary controller is a completely different challenge.
