How many tiers should you have for a consumer SaaS product?

We are building a consumer SaaS product, our business model is paid subscription. Since it will cost us money every time we have a user (paid to 3rd party API providers), we can't really do free plans. Question is, should we try to have multiple tiers and plans? or is it better to have just one price? I've been researching this on Google but have not really found an ultimate resource or answer. Any insights? Current plan is to have 4 plans: A - $99 B - $29 C - $19 D - $9 The main differences is the higher you go the more users you can have as well as more history, more accounts, etc.

Brand Personalities: do you think it's something that startups should care about?

Brand personality is an emotional brand image, in other words: emotional connection between consumer and brand. Competitors can copy features, services, and distribution channels, but by creating an emotional image of the brand, the company could obtain a really strong differentiator. J. Aaker, a specialist in marketing with a focus on brand strategy, conducted research into brand personalities, and identified the following five dimensions: 1. Sincerity: down-to-earth, honest, wholesome, and cheerful. 2. Excitement: daring, spirited, imaginative, and up-to-date. 3. Competence: reliable, intelligent, and successful. 4. Sophistication: upper-class and charming. 5. Ruggedness: outdoorsy and tough. Example: Mercedes is an exclusive brand that sits on a pedestal and encourages its customers to earn the right to join their club. Their reward? Status. Mercedes communicates superiority and exclusivity and reminds their audience that they are at the top. Throughout their entire brand experience, they display characteristics of status, wealth, and success and provide their customers with a sense of achievement. Mercedes has a "Sophistication" brand personality. The infographic Brand personality dimensions by D. Aaker is here: https://twitter.com/GingersauceC...

How to grow a podcast or online show?

I've been building The Ops Show, a developer-focused YouTube show/podcast, during COVID and I'm looking at ways to thoughtfully scale it. My stack is YouTube-first with OBS + Zoom recording and then YouTube premiere + Anchor.fm for distribution. We just hit 200 subscribers and are growing about 50 subscribers per month. Would love to hear your suggestions.

Saas companies, lets talk converting free users to paid

As the title suggests, I want to discuss strategies that SaaS companies have implemented or hope to implement on converting their free users into a free trial, and hopefully a paid plan. What have your most successful campaigns been vs some of your worst to get these conversions? Hearing the details of both successful & non-successful campaigns could hopefully streamline the process for other startups and help increase paid users!

Do you believe that a company's brand color can influence client impressions?

Studies have found that a company s color influences approximately 80% of a customer s purchasing decision. This means that the right choice of color does not only strengthen the brand association, but it can also affect the total sales. Hunters, what do you think regarding the color psychology? If someone is interested, here are cards with descriptions of the most popular colors: https://www.instagram.com/p/CEoz...

How do you build a virtual community?

We are preparing our product launch and I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to building a virtual community. Do you know the problem? A few questions: - Which channels do you use? (Twitter, PH, ...) - How many channels? - How do you attract followers? - Are there cool tricks and methods? - How many followers should you have in the different channels at least? Or if you have different things to say, please tell me.

How do you increase the open rate of your newsletters?

I've been sending our weekly newsletters to my Mailchimp list for the past few months, and have noticed that my email open rates have been dropping. I am guessing that the content isn't as appealing to the audience anymore- any useful tips for increasing your email open rate?

In the early stages, how much time do you devote to growth vs product?

We are just a 2 member team where my cofounder does all the coding and I do the design, product management and testing. I started an Insta and FB page to start getting some followers and marketing the product but I always find myself struggling to juggle between all of these different types of work items and switching contexts. Most of the time gets spent on Product itself, and barely anything on the growth. What about you all makers? How do you manage between the two and make sure you are focusing on growth as much as the product?

How do you deal with declining email open rates?

Hello, everyone We recently started to use mailchimp to send out emails to customers. For the first email we got 80% open rate and the second email we only got 15% and it has been decreasing since. Weird part is that we sent our first email on 5AM on Tuesday and 2PM on Thursday for the second one. According to the several researches, second should get more attention than the first one. Would you please share your experience with sending out emails to customers? Thank you

How much time do you spend on things that don't scale?

I'm sure a lot of you have read this iconic article by Paul Graham (http://paulgraham.com/ds.html) so I was wondering... how much time do you founders/early-stage startup marketers/growth hackers really spend on things that don't scale (like writing content, building relationships, etc.)?

Hi Makers! What do you usually use surveys for?

Looking to see what everyone uses surveys for! From what I've seen, its usually product feedback but I want to see if I've missed anything interesting

If you were to start a YouTube channel, what kind of videos would you post?

With many of us working from home and looking for different creative outlets, a few of my friends have mentioned starting their own YouTube channels as a hobby/side project. Have you been considering this as well? If so, what would your channel be on? If you already have your channel, feel free to share it in the comments! Would love to check it out.

For me it would be Tidal, music helps me concentrate on work and get my tasks done, Phillips smart hue lightbulbs a complete mood changer and my Le Creuset casserole dish, can prep a beautiful dinner and just let it simmer for a few hours while I work
