Feels like something's about to break, and rebuild.

What makes an AI interface feel “trustworthy” to you?

Some tools just feel more reliable even if the backend models are similar. Is it the tone, layout, citations, or transparency of the process? What gives you confidence to act on what AI says?

I have some prompt tips to share

Prompting is everything in the age of vibe coding. Knowing how to guide AI precisely and efficiently is the key to getting the results you want. Today, I m sharing some of my favorite prompting tips, plus a handy cheatsheet I put together.

Prompting Tips That Actually Work

  • Be spatially specific. Use keywords like "left", "right", "centered", "aligned to bottom", "spaced evenly" to help the model place elements correctly.

  • Mention device behavior. If it should behave differently on mobile vs desktop, say so. Ex: "stacks on mobile, grid on desktop".

  • Use visual vocabulary. Mention familiar UI terms like "modal", "toast", "card", "hero section", or "split view" to tap into known design structures.

  • Give UX intent. Add the why: "Add white space for readability", "Add a hover effect for feedback", "Use a progress bar to show completion".

  • Sequence your ideas. For complex prompts, list in steps: "First, add a header. Below that, place a form with two inputs...". AI loves structure.

  • Say what not to do. If you want to avoid scrollbars, animations, shadows, etc., say so.

  • Don t forget empty states. Great design considers what happens when nothing is there say "show a placeholder when list is empty".

  • Test prompt variants. Swap words like "tile" vs "card", "modal" vs "popup" to see which gives cleaner structure.

  • Use active voice. Start with a verb: "Add", "Place", "Make", "Create", "Animate", "Style". It helps guide generation.

Does your company welcome juniors and interns despite AI progress?

Do you remember when we talked about Duolingo replacing staff with AI about a week ago?

The story continues.

Is It Crazy to Build a Local App in a Browser-First, AI-Driven World?

Every day, the PH feed is packed with shiny new SaaS tools most of them browser-based, many of them AI-infused. It s exciting, no doubt. But compared to a time not so long ago, something seems missing: local desktop apps.

They re rare now, and it makes me wonder are native apps still worth building, or have they quietly slipped into the realm of nostalgia?

After all, web apps offer clear benefits for both users and makers or investors. Users don t have to install anything, updates are seamless, and their data is accessible from any device with a browser. For investors, the advantages are just as compelling: a single tech stack, easier user onboarding, lock-in effects, and plenty of levers for driving growth and virality.

What strategies do you usually use for growing your social media and newsletter when you stagnate?

A few weeks ago, I started to feel like I had hit a plateau on social media, especially with my Substack newsletter. I couldn t seem to get past a certain number of subscribers (stagnation).

In similar situations, I ve noticed that people often either:
run a giveaway
pay for ads

How do you fact-check information in the era of Deepfakes and AI?

The perfection of creations generated by artificial intelligence makes it difficult to distinguish fiction from reality.

The precision of AI images has advanced to the point that even professionals (graphic designers, video-makers) are sometimes not 100% sure of their authenticity.

⚡️ What's the best AI UI builder right now?

I m building landing pages for my next product and exploring AI UI tools that actually help ship faster.

Curious to hear what s working for you from the apps like Lobable or v0

I've tested both and cannot choose what tool is better to buy. Maybe there are better tools?

Does an AI based social network make sense (And would you use it?)

According to the Verge, Open AI is trying to create a new social network where people can share their creations produced by artificial intelligence.

Meta is also considering creating AI avatars for social media to drive engagement.

Notes from a failed Product Hunt launch

After hours of reading best practices, crafting the perfect assets and assembling what felt like a bulletproof plan, we were ready to launch on Product Hunt. We worked so hard and genuinely believed we d wake up to thousands of sign ups and the Product of the Day badge.

The reality was very different. We saw a tiny boost in sign ups, got stuck at around 200 upvotes, and to top it off, finished below a food blender.

Should Intellectual property be abolished? (Jack Dorsey's, Musk's and others' point of view)

Yesterday evening I opened Techcrunch and the headline caught my eye:

Jack Dorsey and Elon Musk would like to delete all IP law

(The original Tweet is here and you can read many opinions there.)

From quitting my job to 12,000+ trips being planned with my AI travel planner. Here's how I did it.

2.5 years ago, I quit my job with no backup plan. Today, I'm making a living from Tern, the AI travel planner I built in my bedroom. Here's the raw, unfiltered story of how it happened:

Numbers, Because Product Hunt Loves Data

  • 12,000+ trips planned

  • Paying customers from 9 countries (started monetizing 2 months ago, still free for most users)

  • Users from 120 countries

  • 5/5 stars on Product Hunt (and 1 of the 20 products hunted by CEO @rajiv_ayyangar )

  • $0 spent on marketing

  • 14-hour days, 7 days/week in the beginning

  • 400+ updates shipped

Share your thoughts on "Recent Comments" PH Forum Feature!

Hey everyone!!

Today I noticed the new "Recent Comments" feature on the PH Forum, and it's pretty cool.

It solves two problems:

  1. First, I can easily see which posts are currently active and where people are engaging so as a user I can jump in and participate.

  2. Second, it rewards you for staying active on your own posts and replying to people quickly just like on a PH product launch, since your latest comment will appear at the top of the Recent Comments page.

How do you collect feedback from beta users before your PH launch?

I have launched on PH twice but before launching, I always prefer to share the product with at least 20 potential users over DM. The goal is to get early feedback and testimonials. This helps me understand what s working (or not) in the copy, design, offer, value proposition, etc.
Based on those early insights, I iterate quickly and it could be small tweaks or full rewrites, depending on what people are saying.

To make it easy for them to say yes and share feedback, I create a no-brainer offer (like 70 90% discount) and DM potential users on X asking for feedback.
What s your pre launch strategy for collecting feedback and improving your product before launching on PH?
P.S. Here s a sample DM I use to get early feedback for Boringlaunch:
Hey [User Name]

We ve just launched (product name) for [Industry/Category/Domain/Target Audience]

It might be a great fit for your [product name].

Is a university degree still worth it if you're building a business?

I graduated 4 years ago, and I had the opportunity to go on to a PhD, but I gave up on that option.

Instead, I chose the "real world".

Many public universities in my country offer free tuition, while in the US tuition is very high, and people take out student loans that take decades to pay off.

Which is more important: making a great product or doing effective marketing?

Hello, Product Hunt!
I vote for "marketing is more important!"
Recently, building has become really easy with the help of AI agents and tools like Cursor(thx Ai). I think the time and money needed to create a good product have significantly decreased thanks to various SaaS programs.
However, I still don t have any references to introduce to you ( ). I feel like I ve neglected marketing, which is more important than making the product. (Please tell me this is the real reason...) Especially for indie makers like me, marketing is the hardest part (I wish someone could do it for me! ).
Making a good product and promoting it are both important, and it s a pointless debate.
Still, making vs. marketing? What do you all think?
And if there are any cost-free ways for indie marketers or beginner marketers to try out, could you let me know?

B2C AI Adoption: Is advertising AI features a Plus or a Minus for Growth?

I'm seeing a growing trend of B2C products actively advertising their AI features as a USP, claiming AI being the prime solution.

However, being back in my hometown for a weekend, I've heard a lot of apprehension around data privacy and a general lack of understanding "what happens in that blackbox". Nothing I hear very often back in Berlin, so demographic differences are clearly playing a big role in user receptiveness.

Transparency is crucial, no doubt. Advertising AI on platforms like producthunt or in decks for investors makes a lot of sense - that's the right audience.
But are we far enough along the AI adoption curve for "AI-powered" to be a major selling point on the customer-facing side? Or are we scaring off potential users with concerns about data usage and complexity?
Let's discuss!

  • Have you seen AI transparency hurt or help your user acquisition efforts?

  • How are you addressing user concerns about AI?
