This is a classic freemium challenge. A few strategies I’ve seen work well without alienating free users: Value gating: Keep the core free, but make premium features clearly transformational rather than incremental. Users should feel the upgrade is unlocking something meaningful. Free trials of premium: Let users experience the upgrade fully for a limited time, then let them decide. I’ve found...

Great thread this highlights a key distinction: AI agents can accelerate execution, but they don’t (yet) replace human judgment. Founders still bring context, intuition, and the ability to make trade-offs that aren’t purely data-driven. I see AI as a force multiplier: it amplifies what skilled builders can do, but the ceiling of its capacity is tied to the quality of the human guidance it...

This is a fascinating tension between innovation and platform control. On one hand, vibe coding represents a huge shift in software creation letting anyone prototype or iterate instantly. On the other, Apple’s rules around self-contained apps exist to ensure security, predictability, and user safety. It seems like the core question is: do we prioritize speed of creation or trust and safety?...

Love this reflection sometimes the most powerful insights come from actually using your own product rather than through frameworks or docs. It’s a humbling reminder that your product’s real value often shows up in the small, unplanned moments. A formal approach I like is a mix of internal dogfooding and structured scenario testing: before launch, my team maps out key user goals and tries to...

Really interesting idea! A few features I’d love in an activity tracker like this: Real-time activity overview – see how close you are to hitting platform limits. Customizable alerts – get notified before you risk a temporary ban. Historical trends – track daily/weekly activity to spot patterns. Privacy-first design – all data stays on the device, no cloud uploads. Action breakdown – messages,...

I think the biggest mistake is treating Product Hunt like the goal instead of a distribution channel. Winning Product of the Day is great for visibility, but realistically it’s more about early traction, feedback, and credibility than instant revenue or investors. For most builders, the real value is getting your product in front of early adopters who are willing to test, give feedback, and...

I think AI is great for automation and assistance, but there are clear boundaries. I wouldn’t give it full access to personal finances, biometric data, or private conversations. Those are areas where a mistake, breach, or misuse could have serious consequences. For me, AI works best as a tool that suggests and helps, not something that has complete control over sensitive parts of my life.
