Hopeful, about the vision!! Skeptical, though, they can beat the resourceful-intimate-boredom-busting-dopamine-machine that is a smartphone. I think the challenge is more about turning smartphones lame than anything else. Still, I'm really looking for something that can free me from my phone. Which is not very smart and doesn't make me smart either.

Nice! I remember Strava a few years ago trying to do this, focusing on exercise. I'm not sure what happened to it.

This is my second small experiment inspired from URL Snake by Demian Ferreiro. The first one was Tiny Horse, which used only one type of movement (jump). Besides the challenge of creating a game in a 4 x 100 pixel scene with no color and limited characters, this time I wanted something more difficult. So, Tiny Mario reimagines the classic Super Mario Bros as a side-scroller with a low-fi,...

I'm still having a blast working on this game. After receiving amazing feedback on the previous, somewhat chaotic version, Airtales has now become AirFiesta. It's a multiplayer balloon adventure game set on Google Earth. Float above your neighborhood, drift past famous cities, or join festivals with friends—no borders, no passport required. Festivals are community flights where you explore cool...

This is a meditative multiplayer experience, where strangers on the internet work together to steer a hot air balloon across the world map. There are no points, no ads, and no reason to play, other than the shared pleasure of drifting somewhere together.

Airtales is a meditative multiplayer experience. Everyone online shares one basket and votes on where we drift next. It’s built to stay calm, no points, streaks, or pop-ups asking for your attention. Together you can steer the balloon, request a short story about the place below, or tune in to nearby radio stations. Brief tales and live music appear because words and songs travel easier than...

This is a super simple and totally mind-blowing little game experiment created by @nealagarwal. It’s kinda like the classic Twitch Plays Pokémon livestream from way back, where everyone voted on which button to press to play Pokémon Red together. But Internet Roadtrip is way less crazy, mainly because there are only around a thousand players at once, and we’ve got way cooler tools like Discord...

The Tea Time Alarm is a national alert system ensuring British citizens follow the Tea Consumption Act by reminding them to make tea at set times. Ignoring it can lead to a Tea Violation Notice or a summons to the National Tea Tribunal.

This is so cool, it's a cheeky campaign I found recently where loads of Brits have been sharing on social media, especially on TikTok, just having a bit of fun pranking the Americans. Even the UK government has joined the trend. Featured on BBC, Yahoo, The Tab, and many more.

Well, I'm not sure I can call Justin Hall’s blog minimalist or just old school, since he launched it in '94 And still active. https://links.net

What's your process for finding out if an idea has potential?
Hey folks, I read 'Make' by Peter Levels years ago and found his process quite interesting: Spending a week listing your personal problems, Rank them, then look for solutions for the top three. If nothing meets your needs, build it. The beauty of this is that simply by doing the exercise, you end up meeting some of your needs by discovering something out there. What I’m missing now is how to...

GetAround in the US (Reason: Maybe cultural issues? Not sure. It seems they are focusing on the European market now.) Spark AR by Meta (Reason: I think it was due to the lack of a curated store of filters for the end user, which led to people not using much all those filters created. The Studio was really good.)

I use notion for my task management and journaling, but I was missing scrum standups and some accountability as a solo developer, so I thought about creating an alarm that wakes me up with my daily own updates (what I did yesterday, what I plan to do today). I did some simple experiments, recording myself before going to sleep and playing it when I woke up, and I enjoyed the experience. After...

Love it! I share the same frustration. I built one myself too: https://smartkeys.so/ for iOs and Mac, but yours is definitely more beautiful. Good luck!
