Building apps. Working in cybersecurity.

About

I'm Kyle, an independent developer in Texas and the person behind RelayByte. I build practical Mac apps and work in cybersecurity and managed IT services. I'm the maker of Trayage, a Mac app that helps you review your Downloads folder, spot old installers and likely duplicates, and decide what to keep. File analysis stays on your Mac. I also write as CybersecKyle about security, Apple tech, and the things I'm building.

What “possible duplicate” means in Trayage, and what it doesn’t

A file called Project Notes (1).txt looks like a repeat download. That doesn t establish that it contains the same thing as Project Notes.txt.

Trayage currently uses filename and file-size patterns to suggest possible duplicates. It does not compare the contents of those files.

I've been on Product Hunt since 2016. Now I'm sharing my own Mac app.

Hi everyone, I'm Kyle Reddoch. I'm an independent developer in Texas, and I work in cybersecurity and managed IT.

I've been on Product Hunt since 2016, but I haven't properly introduced the person behind what I'm building.

Trayage is live: I'd like feedback on the moment before you click “Move to Trash”

Trayage launched on Product Hunt today. I'm Kyle, its solo developer, and there's one part of the experience I'd particularly like Mac users to evaluate.

Imagine you're reviewing Downloads. There's an installer you might be finished with, two PDFs with similar names, and a large file you haven't looked at in a while. What do you need to know before you're comfortable moving any of them to Trash?
