I spent a decade buying enterprise software. Most of it didn't survive contact with how teams actually work. Before that also, I built it, a dozen products in twenty months. Then Head of Digital Transformation at Prism Johnson and Orient Cement, sitting on a $5 Mn (₹35cr tech budget), watching good software go unused. Adoption doesn't fail on features. It fails because every tool assumes a maintainer someone who grooms the board and chases status. A ten-person team doesn't have that person. So the board goes stale and work moves back to WhatsApp. WorkElate is an AI-native office suite for teams of 5–50. Tasks, mail, chat, docs, sheets, calendar one data model, so an instruction in chat becomes an owned task that follows itself up.

Hi everyone, I m Chitransh founder of bootstrapped startup WorkElate.

What’s the most expensive “invisible work” your team does every week?

I keep noticing that a surprising amount of work isn t the work itself it s the coordination around it:

Chasing status updates across chats, docs, meetings, and task tools
Re-explaining decisions because context is scattered
Turning strategy into execution plans manually
Realizing a project is blocked only after a deadline slips
