We're launching today on PH but I have a burning question about the video we chose

Which video should we have chosen to be included?
Our short film:

Our founder video:

Our explainer video:

(this is what we went with)

Livestream today at 8am PT

Hiya folks! Shanea, our CEO, will be going live on her LinkedIn profile at https://www.linkedin.com/in/shan... at 8:00 am PT. We'd love to see you there!

Are you already bringing AI agents into your business?

Everyone s been talking about AI Agents over the past year.

But the real leverage doesn t come from the agent itself. It comes from the context you provide:

Does OpenAI have the potential to replace LinkedIn? Their latest project.

I often hear that LinkedIn is starting to be cringe, becoming a second Facebook, but let s be honest: it s still a career platform. A little cringe, but it still is.

On the other hand, Sam Altman introduced a new ambition OpenAI Jobs Platform an AI-powered hiring platform, expected to launch by mid-2026.

Is AI making it harder or easier to stand out?

It feels like almost everyone is using ChatGPT, Claude, or some other AI to create content now.

And the result?

Does build in public really work?

Every day, I notice fewer people sharing their projects here.

A couple of months ago, build in public felt unstoppable: everyone was posting updates, numbers, roadmaps. Now? The hype seems to be fading or maybe makers are just shipping quietly.

What affects your decision-making process about purchase?

At least for me, when I buy something, I consider:

  1. price in relation to time, how long the product will serve me

  2. investment whether buying the product will generate money for me

  3. benefit solving a problem, saving time, fulfilling a need

Is September the best month to launch on Product Hunt?

Every 1st of the month, I have a little ritual: I open hunted.space and check past years launches for that month.

Looking at September 2024, one thing stood out: it was incredibly strong.

The biggest marketing season is about to begin. What marketing campaigns are you planning to launch?

This is a time that I love and hate at the same time as a marketer.

There will be a lot of campaigns (more work, more money, but also an energy drain).

How much are you willing to pay for influencer promotion of your product?

At a time when everyone allows themselves to build any solution using AI, it is difficult to differentiate themselves, and makers are betting on more aggressive distribution.

Some differentiate themselves with good tech support, some build their personal brand as a founder, and some pay influencers.

"Your" or "My" Foo?

When you're designing a user interface ... things like account management pages, preferences, call-to-action buttons ... and particularly onboard cards ...

... do you use "my" or "your" when referring to the user?

Summer is over. What business highlights have you had?

Despite the quiet season typical for summer, I do believe you experienced some business highlights.

(Product Hunt was full of launches, which surprised me in a good way.)

Why we should document AI-generated code like real developers do

I've been thinking about something.
We've gotten really good at using AI to generate working code, but we're not treating it like production code in terms of documentation.

Traditional developers spend significant time documenting their code because they know future them (or their teammates) will need to understand, modify, or debug it later. But with AI-generated code, we often just copy-paste and move on.

The problem:

You generate a perfect solution today.

How is it possible that companies still need social media managers despite AI?

I keep hearing about AI taking jobs.

I have to admit that I have seen a lot of people complaining about job cuts, but that was in the local market.

Wealthsimple acquires Fey

I've enjoyed supporting the @Fey team on several of their Product Hunt launches and now they've announced that they've been acquired by @Wealthsimple!

A marketplace for vibe-coded projects?

I ve built two marketplaces before:

  • One for chatbot templates in 2018 that was used by 700+ marketing agencies.

  • Another in 2020 for job seekers in the U.S., which reached 5.5M users.

So let s suppose I have some experience. You can read about me on Bootstrappers, TechCrunch, Dev to.

Now I m considering building a marketplace where creators can list their vibe-coded projects along with the code, a live demo link, etc. The idea is to target:

How can you promote your launch when the "Coming soon" page is not longer available?

Yesterday, @rohanrecommends noticed some changes on this Platform  the "Coming soon" page is gone.

There's no reason to panic because you have plenty of options to be visible, for example:

  • You can place the PH badge (button for support) on your landing page.

  • You can send a reminder email or push notification to your supporter.

  • You can set up a LinkedIn/Facebook virtual event where you insert the link for your launch.

  • You can use PH forums with relevant categories to make announcements if you have previously launched, for example, p/Google, allowing you to use the platform directly.

How do you reinvest your company's profits/earnings?

Be honest, creating, distributing and scaling a product is more challenging than many people imagine.

And turning a profit from a business is also not entirely easy.
