Every founder dreams of a big Product Hunt splash, top of the day, hundreds of upvotes, users flooding in. But here s what most don t realize: Product Hunt is not the place to validate your idea.

It s the place to amplify what s already working.

If you wait until launch day to show your product to the world, you ve already lost half the battle.

I ve been thinking a lot about how we build now.

It s weird.

Somehow, we started treating the internet like a scoreboard.

We ve been lied to.

Somewhere along the way, launching started to mean one thing:

Pick a date

Hype it up

Ever see a product quietly launch and then blow up?

No funding. No ads. No big team.

Just momentum, like it came out of nowhere.

I used to think it was luck.

I didn t plan this.

I just got tired of launching into the void.

You know the drill:

You build for weeks. Maybe months.

One thing that kept bugging me:

ChatGPT s image-1 model doesn t support common aspect ratios like 16:9 or 9:16, which is kind of a problem when you re making YouTube thumbnails or Shorts.

Not gonna lie.. I didn t expect this.

I launched IndieCru.sh with no team, no funding, and no idea how people would react.

It ended up #8 on Product Hunt, right next to companies backed by millions.

It's a web IDE with all of the infrastructure, tools, integrations and an assistant that can do it all. It'll help you code, debug, deploy, run and scale your apps. The AI is highly infrastructure aware and pays particular attention to the code you add to your app and how it should be powered, and automatically sets up and boots up the infra needed from a rich set we offered it.

The platform also has rich integrations to complicated APIs like Shopifys built in so you can build apps that can connect to the 4M+ business on that platform, and others we intend to add soon.

We are a small team of 2 who built NotionApps - a no-code app builder specifically designed for Notion users.

We first launched NotionApps on Product Hunt late 2023. Back then, it was just an MVP. We ve since added a variety of features and all the essential building blocks that turn Notion into a reliable backend to build apps, special thanks to feedback we got from our early users.
We launched our second version today, and felt like this is a good time to engage with the Notion community here.

Caution: We re treading on thin ice.

I understand why big companies lobby for better conditions in their field. I see it more as a form of collective interest.

I know that many are doing it already by using ChatGPT.

Serious question: Why do most 3D design tools still feel like they were built for Windows XP?

You open them up and immediately feel like you need to go get a degree in viewport navigation.

Everything takes forever. Everything costs a fortune. And God help you if you want to share anything with someone else. Meanwhile the rest of the creative world moved to the browser years ago.

There's one good saying that
"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young."

This is so authentic, especially in the tech world, when everything changes so fast.
