Great job! This is a goldmine of information. @rrhoover are there plans to capture where products are built/originate? It would be great to see a global PH map using this kind of data.
thanks @horsthuis. pH does a great job of providing a ton of data to work with. Origin is definitely something I considered but it's harder to pinpoint since a lot of products don't have makers listed. A map view its a great suggestion though!
@horsthuis I'd love to see an origin map. The best way to do that (that I can think of) would be to retroactively locate where the makers are from via their Twitter bio.
very interesting to see the average votes per month not fluctuate too much month per month; but increase 50% in March 2015.
@rrhoover any ideas what happened in March to make it go from ~69k upvotes in Feb, to 105k upvotes in March?
This is cool! I love seeing the ways data can be crunched into accessible information. Need a search function tho :P. Do you just track analytic for a certain catergory, eg Today in Tech, or Popular in Tech, or just for certain products you could get info on? It doesn't cover everything that was featured on the front page of the day, so I'm interested to know how you picked what goes in the calendar.
@superwhelk Currently it's just products in tech, but once we're able to flesh out some more useful insights, we'll flip the switch on the other categories. Thanks for checking it out.

So is "the best time to post" when votes are up and submissions down? Curios how everyone analyzing this..
@bbzeven haha. I've wrestled a lot with the insights from this data. Since people can upvote multiple products at a time, the Votes by Hour and Day point more to most activity on PH and not necessarily the best time to post. Working on a more detailed breakdown of the info to provide a little clearer instruction. If I had to guess, the earlier the day is still a better time to post, as there is less for people to click and you have longer to gain traction over the day.
@jmacias it's currently organizing everything received from recent posts to tech. If you don't see a recently submitted product, it might be due to update latency (it's about every 10 minutes).
