What we’ve found useful with Hunter is that it keeps the job of finding a professional email fairly straightforward.

When we already know the person or company we want to reach, being able to find the address, verify it, and see where the email was found saves a lot of unnecessary checking. That source reference is a small detail, but it gives more confidence before putting a contact into an outreach list.

The interface also stays fairly clean. There isn’t much to figure out before getting to the actual search.

What needs improvement

The pricing is the main thing that makes us think twice for smaller lists.

If the requirement is only a handful of contacts, the cost can feel harder to justify compared with using a broader prospecting platform that already includes email finding.

For teams doing regular outbound, though, Hunter is still useful to have around because it does one part of the process well and keeps it simple.

Apollo is better when we need the whole prospecting process, from finding accounts and contacts to running outreach. Clay is better when we want to combine providers and build custom enrichment workflows.

Hunter is much more focused. When the prospect is already known and we just need to find and verify the right email, it gets straight to that job.

Very strong email verification software. It has some blindspots, especially with local businesses, but for major industries like software, cyber, healthcare, and finance, it's about as solid as it gets.

Better coverage of local SMBs.
