Most journaling apps add friction right when you least want it. xotes opens straight to a text box, so you get the thought down before it slips away, no menus, no setup, no extra taps. Then it sorts each quote, idea, or observation into a simple library you can actually return to months later. And your words stay yours: never used to train AI, never sold, never rewritten. A calm, modern commonplace book.

One thing that would make this even better is a quick search bar at the top of the library, so I can jump straight to a past note by typing a word or two instead of scrolling. Maybe with a keyboard shortcut so I can hit cmd+k and instantly find that quote I saved three months ago.
@eyma79088 HI Seyma - I appreciate your feedback. There is a search function in the "Book" tab - are you suggesting a search bar in the header would be helpful so that you can search your book from anywhere? Would love to hear more!
love that it drops you right into a blank text field the second it opens, no menus or anything getting in the way when inspiration hits. and the promise that nothing is ever used to train AI feels really rare these days.
@onurtekkoyun Thank you! My goal was to remove as much friction from capturing something as possible. You dont want to loose the thought by the time you can actually write it down.
the jump straight to a blank text box is such a smart call, every other journal app buries the actual writing behind two or three taps and the moment is gone by then.
@azattomur36102 Thank you for the feedback - removing the friction from capturing notes was one of my main objectives. I've gone into notes apps to capture something and lost the thought before I can even get to the page that lets me write more times than I can count.
The instant text box is exactly what I've been wanting, no setup screens getting in the way when an idea hits. Love that everything just lands in a clean library I can actually search later.
@kriyekoakdzld Thank you and really appreciate your feedback! Removing the friction from capturing notes was a main focus. Glad to hear it's working for you as well!
