Wordfive is a totally new kind of word puzzle that's fresh but feels like the classics. Each Wordfive puzzle is a 5x5 grid of letters with five words in it. Five letters are removed, and those letters appear below the grid. Your job as the player is to figure out how to put the five letters back in the grid to make 5 five-letter words. Wordfive is free to download and play forever with a just a couple ads, or upgrade to premium for a one-time purchase for no ads and premium features.

I wanted to make a word game that was new and suitable for an app, but still felt like classic pen-and-paper games. I'm a solo dev and I first made Wordfive by teaching myself to code pretty much line by line. After getting a first version up and running, I took to Claude Code to improve upon my original idea. With Claude's help, I added tons of features to my first core game and now I'm very happy and proud to launch Wordfive on Apple and Android devices! I wanted my app to be a break from the chaos and noise of other apps, so Wordfive is extremely simple. It's free to play forever with just an occasional ad (no stamina or energy or any kind of resource or currency systems), or for a very affordable one-time fee, you can remove the ads forever and unlock premium features. No subscriptions or currencies or anything like that. Testers have said the game is relaxing, cozy, and helps clear their mind and improve their attention span. I hope it can do the same for you!
