Hi all! Super excited to share **WizApply** with you today. First things first… Why did I build this? Is this for you? After experiencing a lay off and the frustration of job hunting firsthand, I realized there had to be a better way to navigate the overwhelming sea of job postings. Many of us waste precious time on irrelevant listings, endure the disappointment of no callbacks, and feel the stress of impersonal application processes. WizApply was created to address these pain points and make job hunting a more efficient and positive experience. The timing of my layoff could have not been better. I got accepted into buildspace to pursue this exact idea a day after my last day of work. Full of happiness to finally embark on my own project, I built a tool that would find me and others find those best matching jobs that are hidden on LinkedIn, Indeed and other platforms. ### What problem is it solving? There are two main problems we are tackling (We spoke with users! Im not just making this up lol): 1. **Wasting Time on Irrelevant Job Postings:** Job seekers often spend countless hours sifting through job descriptions that turn out to be a poor fit. This inefficiency makes the job hunt exhausting and demotivating. Why read a whole description in the first place if its not a match? There had to be a better way. 2. **Impersonal and Ineffective Applications:** Many jobseekers today produce generic outreach messages and cover letters that overlook their own unique qualifications, resulting in lower response rates and missed opportunities. However, none prioritize leveraging connections—the "side door" to landing your dream job. WizApply simplifies this process by enabling you to reach out personally to insiders, significantly increasing your chances of success. ### How are we solving the problem? 1. **AI-Powered CV and Skills Analysis:** WizApply automatically analyzes your CV to understand your skills, experience, and qualifications. But not only that, we understand we all also have passions and hobbies! That has a big impact into the type of job you would like. Our AI takes that into account allows you to quickly find those jobs with the highest match score. 2. **Job Match Scoring:** Each job posting uploaded receives a relevance score, helping you quickly identify the best matches based on your profile. Here is where your passions and experience are taken into account! Pretty simple, high match = apply, low match = keep moving! 3. **Personalized Job Recommendations:** Based on the analysis, our tool provides tailored job suggestions aligned with your career goals and passions and specific to that job description. We do this by making sure to implement keywords, relevant experience and any transferable experience listed on your cv. 4. **Application Optimization:** WizApply streamlines your application process by offering customized cover letter suggestions, ensuring your applications stands out. With AI, we are able to generate a first draft for you to save you time and edit a version that is already good. This will help you avoid writers block and get those creative juices flowing. We all love some ideas and templates so WizApply has that for you. 5. **Coming soon: User-Friendly Dashboard:** Track your job applications, monitor progress, and manage your job search all in one place. Once you have applied, the tool will track the progress of your application and even tell you if your email or application has been seen/opened! 6. **Coming soon: List of relevant contacts:** Once you have applied, our AI provides you with a list of relevant people (i.e. hiring managers) or employees from the company to give you a chance to reach out to them for a chat and increase your chances of getting noticed. No AI-generated message here, this is all you (we know you got this! Its the last step of a 10/10 application). We want to keep those outreach messages as personal as possible as that is exactly what increases your chances of hearing back ### How does WizApply work? - **Upload Your CV:** Let WizApply analyze your skills and experience. - **Upload Job Descriptions:** Select and upload job descriptions you’re interested in. - **Receive Job Match Scores:** Our AI analyzes the job descriptions and provides a TL;DR summary with a job match score. - **Optimize Your Applications:** Use our customized cover letter suggestions to enhance your applications. Coming soon: - **Access Job Aggregator Board:** All jobs from top job portals combined in one place and only the best matches shown to you. - **Track Your Progress:** Manage your job search and monitor your applications in our intuitive dashboard. - **Get Network Suggestions:** Landing a job the old way is harder now. You get more chances if you know someone inside. AI gives you some options you could reach out to! - **Get Personalised Recommendations:** Get AI generate recommendations to improve your application and increase the chances of hearing back. ### My Story: After being laid off, I found job hunting to be overwhelming and inefficient. Literally more than 50% of the “top picks for you” jobs had nothing to do with my experience or required x5 the experience I have. Determined to find a better way, I created WizApply. This tool helped me quickly analyse job descriptions in a TLDR format to know quickly whether it was worth reading and aplpying to, or not. The best way to know that, was with a score and a quick summary of the responsabilities and experience required. Within seconds, I would move on instead of reading (even skimming most the time) to later find out they wanted someone who spoke Chinese?!?! Why not say that on the top! After a week of creating the first version of WizApply, I was able to find better matching jobs literally 10x faster and increased my chances at landing interviews in cool companies.
