Yuriy here, a co-founder of withukraine.org.
I normally work for one of the FAANG tech companies, but when the Russian war against Ukraine started 1.5 months ago I decided to volunteer for the Embassy of Ukraine to the UK.
Together with the embassy and a team of volunteers across Europe we decided to build the easiest and the most reliable way to donate money for the humanitarian needs of the Ukrainian people.
From the start of the project we’ve focused our effort on three areas:
1. Ease of use. We wanted to make it possible to donate in 1 click. No IBAN numbers, no bank details, no extra effort.
2. Trust. It’s important that people can trust the organization they are donating to. Especially on the internet.
3. Positive impact. This is the most important one. We wanted to make sure Ukrainian people can get humanitarian help as quickly as possible.
Today we are pleased to launch a new version of withUkraine.org with an even simpler design. We are also sharing the most recent results of our fundraising effort: we’ve collected a whopping £25,000,000 (~$32,700,000) and already sent tens of tons of humanitarian items to Ukraine.
We are very grateful for all the support we’ve been getting from people around the world, but we need more. If you can, please donate today.
