Reviewers largely say Willow Voice makes dictation practical for everyday work: it is repeatedly praised for high accuracy, near-instant transcription, and cleaning up spoken rambling into well-formatted text inside apps like Slack, Gmail, Notion, coding tools, and general Mac workflows. What's great

I've only used this for a couple of days, but so far, I like it a lot compared to some alternatives I've tested. It is extremely fast, accuracy is quite good even with the free version, and it's not complicated to set up and use. I think this will only get better and better as the product continues to mature, and I expect it will move into 5-star territory for me.

What needs improvement

A few things I wish Willow had: 1) A way to auto-delete transcripts after a certain number of days instead of having to go in and manually delete them periodically, 2) Privacy settings should carry over from the desktop to iOS, they didn't when I did my setup from Windows to my iPad, and 3) An Android app! I can't fully switch until it's available on Android, and maintaining two sets of dictionaries and shortcuts is not very appealing.

Also I'd suggest considering a less expensive subscription plan that includes some features in Pro but without unlimited Scribe. Some of us don't want AI to do our writing for us and don't need it to understand our writing style. I wouldn't pay almost $150/year for the other Pro features, but there are other nice features in Pro. I would definitely consider paying $5/month or $60 year if I could get the increased dictation length, local transcription, priority access to features, if possible unlimited Frontier Pro (if that would financially make sense at the lower subscription price point, although Frontier Mini seems pretty good), and an Android app.

What's great

I use Willow throughout my day. It saves me a whole bunch of time because it very accurately captures my dictation, and it helps me to talk rather than type, which speeds up all my activities throughout the day tremendously.

What needs improvement

If you turn on fast dictation, it will sometimes translate the language in which you dictate to English, which, in some cases, is not intended. Very often when I dictate something in another language than English, I want it to be transcribed in that language.

The developers know about this and are working for a solution. In general, I would say every bug or feature request that you share with them is acted on very diligently and with speed.

Wispr Flow

Because of the privacy and safety features, this product is designed with safety and privacy in mind and does not grab my data for its own benefit and training purposes. There are actually a number of certifications that they hold when it comes to privacy that none of their competitors hold.

I've been using Willow Voice for about six months and Scribe for the past several months, and the experience has been outstanding. The dictation accuracy is excellent, and the Scribe AI integration is surprisingly accurate, requiring virtually no tweaking. Willow Voice probably saves me at least two hours every day by eliminating most of my typing and the need to fix typing errors. It's an amazing product that has become an essential part of my daily workflow.

What needs improvement

The only area I'd like to see improved is response time. It's already a great product, but making it even faster would make the experience even better. I keep getting, "Takes longer than usual," prompts.

vs Alternatives

I tried Whisper, but it wasn't nearly as fast or as accurate as Willow Voice. Willow's speed, transcription quality, and seamless workflow made it the clear choice for me.We're also Mac-based, and Apple's built in dictation is pretty poor by comparison.

I have only been using Willow Voice (both Mac and iOS) for two days, and it is already edging out a competitor's product I've used for 6 months. After joining their Slack community, I am very impressed to see how quickly they respond to user feedback.

vs Alternatives

I have used MacWhisper, TalkTastic, and Wispr Flow; the free version of each. I like that Willow Voice includes the Willow Assistant feature in the free version for initial evaluation. As mentioned earlier, I am only two days into my evaluation, but I'm extremely pleased so far. This really looks like a keeper!

What's great

I love that whatever I'm doing on my Mac, I can now speak into that application and my words appear typed, as if by magic. It's made me much more productive, but I also think it's made me much more prolific because I'm now committing words to screen I never would have done before. The Willow team has been incredibly responsive, and it's been a joy to see this product develop and grow so beautifully, so rapidly. I really can't recommend it enough.

Honestly, it felt like a no-brainer to choose Willow Voice because I was able to hit the ground running with no learning curve at all. It just works and it's awesome.

I’ve been using Willow Voice for a few weeks now to handle the bulk of my internal comms (Slack, Gmail, and Notion). Most dictation tools fail because they require a "second pass" to fix all the phonetic errors. What makes this different is the LLM layer that actually understands context. If I stumble over a sentence and correct myself out loud, the tool replaces the error in real-time instead of just transcribing the mistake.

What needs improvement

The free tier is 2,000 words a week, which is fine for casual use, but power users will hit that limit by Wednesday.

So much fun to ramble out and get cleaned up, formatted text. I got used to great STT through ChatGPT, now with Willow I get it anywhere at near instant processing. It just works. It's the first time dictation has become integral for my daily work. Typing feels archaic now.

I chose Willow because it brings high-quality 'ramble-to-clean-text' intelligence directly into any active window. It eliminates the friction between speaking and publishing.

What's great

This app's speech-to-text accuracy captures every word perfectly (even technical terms or difficult names) and understands how to format text in different contexts. It’s fast, intuitive, and makes writing and coding feel much more seamless.

Good product, works with Cursor; however I uninstalled because there is no way to turn off the "You haven't used Willow in a while!" notifications. If your product lacks the ability to turn off nags, it's a big red flag for me. There isn't even a way to disable it in the Mac settings. Hopefully, this gets swiftly addressed in a future update. 4/5 for now, great product with one large flaw.
