Reviewers say AudioPen is a simple, reliable way to speak messy thoughts into clear notes, summaries, emails, and drafts, especially while walking, journaling, or after meetings. They repeatedly praise the clean UI, natural dictation, accurate rewrites, support for multiple languages, and easy access to both polished summaries and original transcripts. Several also value integrations like API, webhooks, Zapier, Obsidian, and Notion workflows. Critiques are limited but consistent: some want more features, lower pricing, custom prompts, background recording on iOS, fewer auth hiccups, and longer or unedited recordings.

@louispereira23 Congrats! I just heard about the app on StarterStory and intrigued to try it and looked and worked great. Just curious to see how the cost of using OpenAI’s API cut into the profits. If you are sending 15 mins of audio files to the APIs to transcribe and if a user does it a bunch of times that’d be equivalent to the monthly cost they pay, if not more. Wondering how you are keeping up with the profit side of this equation? Everytime I had any idea about leveraging these APIs for it, I always worry about the overhead cost involved and most of the time the math doesn’t seem to add up for me, just curious to see how it worked out for you, if you don’t mind.
