Hey Product Hunt! I’m Austin, founder of Serbyte. I built What The Google Font because I kept running into the same problem while designing and building websites: I’d have a screenshot, logo, or client reference, but no way to find a close Google Font alternative from the image. Most font identifiers try to name the exact font, which is useful, but they often point to paid or commercial typefaces. I wanted something more practical: upload an image, crop the text, and get the closest free Google Font you can actually use in a website or design project. The tool currently supports image uploads, text cropping, confidence scoring, similar font alternatives, live previews, and direct font downloads. Would love feedback from designers, developers, and typography nerds: Are the matches close *enough*? What would make the result page more useful? Should I add CSS/Next.js implementation snippets next?

As a designer, I often need to match a font that's already been converted to outlines - so the source is gone and all I have is the shape. This is exactly the tool for that moment. Two things I'd love to see: SVG upload support, and multilingual matching beyond Latin characters. Both would make this genuinely indispensable

Multilingual support is a more ambitious feature, but I will look into adding this soon.
