Hello!

I'm Devyn, one of the two co-founders behind Watchlist.

We started building Watchlist because we knew Youtube had a large issue. There are MILLIONS of videos uploaded to Youtube every day, including amazing documentaries, video essays, films, etc. But the algorithm doesn't push that. The algorithm pushes trends, what's hot at the current moment, not usually the best content in circulation. Views doesn't reflect quality.

People rate albums they listen to. Shows and movies they watch. And we knew that there are people like us who enjoy finding, watching, and talking about high quality videos on Youtube. So why wasn't there a website for that?

There is now.

Our goal with Watchlist is to create a community where people can discover great videos, share their opinions, and perhaps most important put a spotlight on creators and videos that don't get the recognition they deserve.

We're in very early stages, and the thing we need most right now is feedback.

A few things we would love to hear include:
Would you actually use this? Is rating and reviewing YouTube videos something you find interesting?

What's missing? What features would make you want to use Watchlist regularly?

How's the experience? Is anything confusing, frustrating, or difficult to navigate? Does the site make sense?

What would you change? Are there things we're doing that you think could be done better?
