Warden is an open-source sandbox runtime for MCP servers. Define explicit filesystem, network, and environment permissions, then run the server inside an enforced sandbox where anything outside the policy is blocked. Warden is designed to make MCP execution safer by default, with a fail-closed approach when the required sandbox cannot be initialized.

Hey Product Hunt! I built Warden because MCP servers can be incredibly useful, but giving a server your normal system permissions can be a pretty big trust boundary. Warden takes a different approach: define what the server is allowed to access, put it inside a sandbox, and block everything outside that policy. I’m especially interested in testing Warden against MCP servers I didn’t write myself. If you work with MCP, security, or AI agents, I’d love for you to try it and tell me where it breaks, what you’d change, or what you’d want Warden to support next. Open source, built to be tested.
