I am glad to introduce you to Waloki, an application that provides a simple way to track your subscriptions and free trials with privacy and get reminders before every charge.

Why does this application exist?

I decided I needed to start keeping track of my subscriptions and free trials after I got charged for free trials I forgot about or subscriptions I was planning on taking a break from.

The question was never whether I wanted to keep track of my subscriptions but rather if I was comfortable sharing personal financial information or connecting to my bank account to do this. While this is perfectly fine for some, having more options is always great. And because I know I am not alone in this, I set out to build an app that met some certain criteria:

⏰ Get customizable reminders before every charge: Waloki let's you choose how soon you want your reminders before every charge e.g. 30, 14, 7, 3 or 1 day(s) before the expected charge date.

📁 Organise subscriptions in categories: Waloki provides lots of categories but also lets you add your own.

💱 Currency conversion: Waloki lets you view your subscription amounts in up to 200 different currencies.

📅 A monthly calendar view of expected payment dates: Waloki provides this as well for up to 12 months ahead.

⏸️ Cancellation/Reactivation reminders: Need to take a break from a subscription, set a reminder with Waloki to cancel that subscription and if you want to be reminded to re-subscribe to particular service in the future, you can set reminders for that as well.

📲 Installation support: Waloki is a Progressive Web Application (PWA) which means you can install it on almost any browser supported device e.g. desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones regardless of the OS. This works on iPhone, Android, Windows, Linux etc.

📊 Get insights into subscriptions and spending e.g. highest costing categories and products: Waloki provides this along with some easy to understand graphs.

💳 (Optional) Reminders before a payment card expires: Want to be reminded before a card expires, share only the last four digits and expiry month/year with Waloki and get reminded up to 60 days before the card expires. Additionally, you can link a card to the subscription(s) it is paying for.
