Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Bharat, the founder of Waitdate, and I’m incredibly excited (and a little nervous!) to finally share this with you all. The idea for Waitdate came to me during a solo layover at JFK Airport. I had hours to kill, no lounge access, and found myself surrounded by hundreds of people doing the same thing—waiting. Some were reading, others scrolling aimlessly, and a few looked just as bored as I felt. That’s when it hit me: airports are this rare, perfectly timed window where everyone is stuck in the same place… and just maybe, open to connection. So we built Waitdate: an app specifically for travelers waiting at the airport. It lets you: See who else would be at the same airport at the same time Schedule a coffee, drink, or quick hang before your flight Match based on time overlap and mutual intent—you only see people who are also available to meet before takeoff We’re not trying to replace long-term dating apps. This is about the magic of the moment—a spontaneous human connection while you both have nowhere to be (except Gate 37B in 90 minutes). We’re starting small, with support in major airports like JFK, LAX, ATL, and ORD—but there’s so much more coming. Right now, I’d love your feedback: What would make this experience smoother?
