A month ago, this started with a simple loop I kept finding myself in. Every time I prepared for an interview, I tried to guess what it would look like for that specific role. And most of the time, it felt random.
That led to a bigger question. If candidates are guessing, what does hiring look like from the other side?
Turns out, it is just as uncertain.
Roles today are broader and less conventional, but the way we evaluate people has not kept up. Interviews are often inconsistent, signal is weak, and decisions are harder than they should be.
So I started building Vettral.
The idea was simple. Create a system where interviews are structured but flexible, where assessments reflect real work, and where decisions are based on actual evidence instead of gut feel.
Vettral lets teams design interview flows that go deep where it matters, evaluate candidates in real scenarios, and move faster without losing quality.
This has been especially important for smaller teams who do not always have the time or expertise to design strong hiring processes from scratch.
