This is one of the first books I purchased several years ago on my journey towards more plant based eating and it is still one of my favorites. There is a great variety of recipes from simple everyday to holiday specials. The recipes do not rely on a lot of store bought fake meat products. Overall, Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero are two of my favorite vegan chefs.
Okay, I'm all for going vegan but this is SO not a beginner's cookbook! I did the same thing, Robert, because it had amazing reviews online but HOLY CRUD it's fancy, complicated, and uses ingredients I couldn't get in a small town! So while I'd definitely suggest it for the advanced chef, it wasn't for me, the microwave queen. :P
